The investigation and analysis of design ideas for a range of applications beginning with simple sketches through to complex assemblies:

• Development of concepts, specifications and engineering solutions 
• Design of 2D/3D parts and assembly CAD models and drawings
• Investigating and analysing the feasibility of design/product for manufacture 
• Assessing and selecting materials for a range of applications
• Composites including carbon fibre, e-glass and  kevlar/aramid and core
• Composite processes including wet lay-out, infusion, prepreg and auto clave applications

Organising, prioritising and management of client design information in order to ensure the accurate and efficient transition from design office to the shop floor. Items include:

• Project Lifecycle Management (PLM) and CAD structure set-up
• Production drawings and 3D models
• Production procedures and instruction sheets
• 3D design of tooling and components for both 3 and 5 axis CNC machining
• Organising and assessment of 3D scanning of hull and appendages

Management of Weights for a number of diverse projects, responsibilities included:

• Preliminary/projected weight calculations
• Breakdown of weight in specific areas (hull, rudder, rig, systems, etc)
• Setting of weight targets for design and manufacturing
• Recording of weight data during the build and fit-out process
• Organising, weighing, recording, and reporting of boat weights at key milestones
• As built weight calculations

Providing project management services to ensure that engineering projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required standards. Areas include:

• Prioritisation and scheduling of work
• Costing and budgeting (including BOM)
• Liaison and coordinating with clients, internal departments and external companies 
• Cataloguing of design information – received, produced or sent internally and externally
• Procurement – quoting, purchasing and sign-off
• Compliance documentation support
